MSS Ranks in “Top 100 Workplaces”

April 05, 2013

For the fourth year in a row, Movers Specialty Service, Inc. (MSS) has been recognized by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News and Philly.com as one of the top 100 places to work. Ranking among companies with less than 150 employees, MSS placed #16 based on survey responses provided by MSS employees.

President and CEO, Timothy Hughes said, “MSS is proud to announce we have been named in Philly.com’s Top Workplace Award. Based solely on an employee survey, this award highlights the positive, empowerment-focused culture valued by our firm's employees each day they arrive at the office or job site, as well as the benefits that help cultivate a healthy quality of life.”

The 2013 Top Workplaces distinction is earned through employee survey results. The anonymous surveys encouraged employees to be candid when responding to statements such as, “MSS operates by strong values and ethics,” “New ideas are encouraged,” and “I feel genuinely appreciated at MSS.” Approximately 86% of all MSS employees chose to participate in the survey, listing a number of reasons for loving their workplace. A few respondents stated:

“My hard work is recognized and my opinion is valued. Everyone works as a team and treats each other like family.”

“The medical and child care flex-spending accounts are of great value to me. Not only do they save on taxes, but they make it easier to balance my budgets at home.”
