Backed by a team of expert technicians exclusively trained through our in-house program, MSS Precision Crating provides medical device crating and custom machinery packaging. Whether it’s through up-front communication, responding to billing needs or daily scheduling, we are dedicated to serving you as efficiently and as quickly as possible. This is why premier medical firms trust us with their medical equipment packaging and medical device moving needs.
Our crating team is often called upon to prepare a certain company’s supply of dental imaging devices for transportation. The company utilizes local vendors to procure the device parts, and once assembled, ships the finished device from Pennsylvania to clients worldwide, including South America, Germany, China, and Japan.
This type of project required us to devise a shipping scenario for worldwide delivery that enables the company’s supply chain to run efficiently and claim-free, protecting first the individual parts prior to assembly and then the completed machine after it is fully built.
Our client’s vendor network supplies components to their production facility on an ongoing basis. These components all carry a gloss medical environment-approved, epoxy-coated finish which is extremely susceptible to damage. Once the unit is assembled, the medical equipment is then slated to ship to destinations all over the globe.
MSS always takes into account the factors of different shipping methods to cater to our clients’ needs. Here, we developed a tailored crate that serves double-duty as both a manufacturing platform and a shipping case. Engineered shipping bases and foam are delivered to our client’s vendor network to facilitate the safe transport of all components to our client. Once all components have arrived and the company has fully assembled the device and completed software installation, customized crate walls and blocking are supplied to complete the crate assembly. Finally, the overall crate configuration and size is specifically designed to ship economically via air, boat or truck.
Shipping damage from both manufacturing and final delivery to the end user was reduced to zero.
