The Precision Crating team is kicking off a new project for Pedowitz Machinery Movers, a machinery moving, rigging, and transportation company. Pedowitz tasked our crew with crating half a dozen 72,000 lb. milling machines for safe transit from their Lebanon, NJ plant to a final destination in France. In this instance utilized by the aerospace industry, milling machines are very versatile. They are usually used to machine flat surfaces, but can also produce irregular surfaces. They can be used to drill, bore, cut gears, and produce slots as well.
Using 8x8 timbers to deck these mighty monsters, we’re building crates on site with average dimensions of 22 feet long x 12 feet wide x 11 feet high. Not your run of the mill job, but that’s the name of the game for the Precision team!
