Featured Project: Precision Crating Team Finds Their Bearings

December 18, 2018

Our friends at Transit Systems, Inc. (TSI) approached the MSS Precision Crating team with a unique task: help a newly-donated, high-value bear sculpture find safe transport from a residence in suburban Philadelphia to its new home at a North Carolina charter school. While the statue was initially quoted at 600 pounds (which is, coincidentally, the average weight of a real male grizzly bear!), the crew soon discovered it actually weighed in at a whopping 950 pounds. And with its current home about to hit the sale market, the bear required service within three short days of initial contact.

Immediately crate this expensive, cumbersome item of enormous weight and arrange for its secure transport across state lines? No sweat! Naturally, the Precision crew wasted no time finding their bearings. A team of four MSS technicians removed and crated the striking sculpture within the allotted time frame, and it was delivered and installed in time for its unveiling and dedication.
