The Precision team is in the midst of a six month project for the Branchburg, NJ outpost of Agfa Corporation, a producer of lithographic aluminum printing plates for offset presses. Agfa’s headquarters is located in Mortsel, Belgium and while this plant was their largest manufacturing location in the United States, it is being shuttered and transferred to existing facilities in Belgium and China. Now comes the task of getting the complex contents of this plant from one station to another. We're talking guillotine cutting systems which slit and sheet heavy 6000-ft rolls of aluminum.
So just how does one go about prepping these mammoth machines for international transit? Enter the Precision crew! Think: labor for dismantling all components of the sheeter line in conjunction with Agfa riggers, shop-building custom crates to spec and delivering them to the plant, and packing the components. Oh, and these crates must be suited for ocean transport. Just another day in the life! At job's end, they're estimating a whopping 200-400 crates.
