Hunger Action Month 2021
We took action this month in the name of hunger. Whether our teammates were able to donate, engage in an activity, or simply learn a little more about free, small ways to help, we thank them for joining us along the way! Remember, you don’t need to spend a dime to make an impact. Simply educating yourself and your family and advocating for those impacted by our country’s hunger crisis can make a difference. We’ve curated a handy guide to help: https://mailchi.mp/mss1/hunger-action-month-2021
Halfway through our drive, we brought back a much-loved team activity: the knockout basketball tournament. Participants paid $5 or contributed 5 donation items to earn a spot. While turnout was light, those who did show up were there to play. Congrats to our winner, Phil, who edged out reigning champ Mike C. in a nail-biter. And thanks to all those who sponsored our caped crusader, Jackie R.
In addition to all of the physical items donated in the office, between the tournament and cash/Venmo donations, we raised $300. We used that money to make a bulk purchase and dropped off all donated items to our local food pantry, Manna on Main Street. Our final tally? 542 lbs of donated goods, which translates to 452 meals! Thank you to Move for Hunger for their support throughout Hunger Action Month and for recognizing us with their Hunger Fighting Hero Award!
