Our partners at Transit Systems, Inc. (TSI) contacted the MSS Precision Crating team of specialists to lend their expertise to this immense, high-end woodwork job.
Challenge:
The MSS Precision Crating team was tasked with crating a magnificent maple sky bridge intended for final placement in Waterline Square, a luxury Manhattan skyscraper. The massive piece, comprised of a bridge and stairs, was constructed in multiple sections at a custom yacht builder in Maine.
Process:
Our crating experts built 48 custom crates, many of which were oversized at 20 feet long, to protect the dismantled maple pieces while in transit and in storage. Each crate was constructed with transit in mind, as all needed to be safely loaded and securely, uniformly fastened to the trailer.
By job’s end, TSI required two flatbed tractor trailers to fit the entire shipment.
Results:
Our MSS Precision Crating experts again provided reliable, custom crating solutions for our client. “You guys knocked it out of the park on this one,” said Adam Emerson, Director, Sales & Business Development at TSI. “I look forward to working with you on the next project.”
At the completion of Waterline Square’s construction, the sky bridge was delivered, assembled, and installed by custom architectural metal and glass firm Jaroff Design.
